Default Good (great) Mechanics in Philly Area

Hey everyone...
I am looking for a general audi mechanic and oil change shop for my 99. I am just about to go out of warranty and am through with the dealer...

TIA.

Default Well, we have been recommending Woodlawn Foreign Car Service in Philly.

But someone came out of there yesterday, and I think he ended up paying a LOT more than he should have for the work he had done. They will do good work, but the prices he paid seemed comparable to dealer prices.

There is a place in Doylestown that services primarily BMW's. They also do Audi's.... They used to put up posts here for the Audi Service Manual (which they sell), but I can't remember their name. It was something like bmwparts.com (but that isn't it, I just checked). Maybe someone else here remembers the name of this place. You would probably be the first to walk in their shop though.

Default Where in philly? I was just at Woodlawn on friday for a brake flush & fill with Motul and

I'm very happy with their service. John is a very knowledgable person of Audis and Porsches, but it seems that his labor prices vary from time to time for the same work, which I haven't experienced, but that's what I've heard. Their rate is $65/hr, but I've heard that for the same job, one time it's 1 hour and then the next it's 1.5 hours for the same job.

If you're in the Horsham/Willow Grove area, DiNardo Foreign Motors has done some work for me with great results.

DiNardo
241 Horsham Rd
Horsham, PA 19044

They're at the intersection of route 611 & Horsham Rd next to B&P Performance shop that sells a lot of products that people use, such as, Amsoil motor oils, K&N replacement/cleaning kits, etc. Look for a bunch of used Porsches in front of the shop.

Default Third recommendation for Woodlawn.

I guess they're not quite as cheap as some independents, but I've had enough bad service experiences that I'll pay extra for someone I trust to be competent. John and Jack know their stuff, and I'd recommend them wholeheartedly.

I'll be there on Tuesday for a tech inspection for Summit Point next week. Possibly the last track event in this car...

Default Price aside, I recommend you writing down every single thing that needs to be done or checked...

...admittedly, I had a zillion things done but John's kinda forgetful unless it's written down (he even admits to it).

I guess I'll find out tomorrow when I pick up the car if Woodlawn is as good as what everyone else here says it is.

Another thing going for them is that they're 1.5 blocks away from a Septa station which is convenient for me since I work right across from Independence Hall in Center City.
