is it a good idea to put an intake on a 1.8T? any reasons not to?

I just put on a HKS intake that a local shop hooked me up with for $70 and i like it alot. I actually think i felt a performance increase(maybe i'm just imagining it though). And it does make a really cool sound. I would just make one tho, as even though i seem to got it for cheap it was probably still a rip off as it looked like it could have been made at home for pretty cheap.

and especialy with your HKS intake, the air that it sucks is superheated air that is right nest to the turbo. So you're sucking hot air into your engine and robbing power.
I guarantee you 100% that any "gains" you felt are simply the placebo effect. You may spool a bit quicker, but you're down on power.

Don't know if I have any performance gains, but you get that vacuum sound and you can hear your BPV amplified
