Default good place to buy g11 coolant for best price?

I have a 2.8 96 A4 (12v) with G11 coolant. Recently the low coolant light came on and my dad added regular Prestone coolant (not heeding the warnings of the manual).

I have read other posts saying how damaging this can be to the engine and the aluminum heads so plan to get it flushed. I don't think the garage I will get it flushed at will have this g11 coolant, so can somebody recommend a good place to get it for the best price? Also, how much do I need to buy for a complete flush?

Thanks.

Default vw dealers are generally cheaper than audi....

iirc you can change to g12, with a sys flush, as i'm not sure they make g11 anymore

Default local audi or vw dealer.

You can order from ecstuning.com or germanautoparts.com, but you have to pay shipping, and wait for it to show up. Just get some locally, and flush the system ASAP! I would drain the system, fill with water, run the car with the heater on high, drain again, then fill with the proper coolant.

Default You can get G11 at the VW/Audi dealer. They still have it.

It's probably under the "Autobahn" name and it is green.

Default Probably 1 gallon...but I would get 2 just in case you need a little extra.

It's always good to keep some on the shelf just in case.

Default Wait...is that stuff compatible with plain jane green coolant?

I thought he was talking about the pink stuff that's in all the newer cars.

Default i used 1 - 50/50 mix w/distilled water.

had just a tiny bit left over from a full flush/fill.

Default G11 is blue, and no, it's not really compatible with the green either..

though it's not as bad to mix green in g11 as it is in g12.

Default Pentosin G11 is blue. Autobahn is green. Big diff is that.

G11 is a genuine phosphate free coolant. Whereas your dollar-store Prestone is not.
