17953,P1545,Throttle Pos.Contr Malfunction
16514,P0130,"O2 Sensor Circ.,Bank1-Sensor1 Malfunction"
17956,P1548,Boost Pressure Contr.Valve Open
So I'm guessing I have a bad DV and a bad O2 sensor? Which sensor is sensor 1, the front or the back? Is it the front one or the back one that's on the cat?
What is the throttle position control malfunction? Does that mean I need to do a throttle body adaptation or is my throttle body bad?
Thanks in advance!

My take
1. Looks like the TB is bad but try a VAG-COM TBA first. If adaptation OK then hope the DTC doesn't come back. If adaptation fails, you know why.
2. O2 bank 1 sensor 1 is a pre-cat sensor.
3. That Boost Pressure Contr. Valve is the N75 problem, not the DV (ECU wouldn't know if the DV failed). Look for broken wiring and check N75 resistance

Also... my car runs fine with all of these codes. If I have a bad throttle body, what are the ...
sympthoms? The only problems I can possibly think of are is the car takes one or two too many cranks to start (doesn't fire on the first one like my parent's '01 1.8T). The other one is at idle the needle sort of hoovers around a 50rpm range randomly, with no noticable shaking of the car or audible noise change of the engine.

Well I've been on the forums for almost two years...
I just meant I'm a newbie because I've never had this problem. I have a '97 1.8T with the AEB engine. Is the location the same on the AEB as it is ont he ATW? What exactly am I looking for?

It plugs into the intake hose between the airbox and turbo inlet. It has two vac hose connections

.. one runs to the turbo housing and the other to the wastegate actuator.

Motronic uses substitute values when some components fail. For example,
if MAF fails (just try unplugging it) Motronic will use a built-in default map to substitute MAF values and the car will still run.
Something is broken in the throttle position control and it needs to be fixed. It's not an emergency but I wouldn't put it off...
