how I can affix my license plate on the front without drilling any holes into the bumper? I really don't want to have to use the mounting bracket.

This is what I did for my front. Never had a plate until I started parking in Palo Alto, and got two tickets.
Take the front plate holder, and flip it upside down. Now put it about where it would go normally on the front bumber, but a bit lower. The top should be about the middle of the bumber, and it should hang below, covering some oif the lower grill. If you reach around on the sides about the middle, you will feel an area where you could put rubber stick-on piece, about an inch thick ( they would normally be on the bottom of stereo equipment, etc) this will keep the plate holder from actually touching the front bumber.
You will notice a few holes in the plate holder. I just used some zip-ties to attach the plate holder to the lower grill. Now you can just attach the plate using normal screws.
