You're crazy!
16's have plenty of sidewall on them! Only reason I would run 15's is if I lived in the outback in Alaska. For any place without 300 miles of civilization, 16's at a minimum. Within 50 miles of metropolis, 17's!

I have sport suspension with Zender front spoiler and still run in 8-12 inches of snow.
Just packs my grilles solid in the white stuff. Fun to drive into our work lot before the plowing is done and pull doughnuts .

10mm...I don't think its noticible.
One of my cars has 195 wide dunlops
the other one has 205 wide dunlops
10mm difference , can't tell the two apart. it is only 10mm after all.

Not hardly. I've had cars that were stiff, with low profile tires, in snow..
they sucked. I greatly prefer a car with nice soft tires. Yeah, 16s are fine, but you can't get as narrow a tire on a 16 as you can a 15. I run 205s on my A6, and they sometimes like to float, whereas the 185s on the A4 never float. Yes, I said 185s. Sure, it gives up a bit of ultimate dry handling, but it's not like my wife cares, she'd rather be able to make it up our driveway, which she can any time.
come spend a winter up here in VT in the boonies where I live and you'll understand why.
