Default got new larger oil filter from napa (1333)...did the oil change but...

i could only dump in 3.75quarts does that seem right? I thought that bigger filter would bump it up to 4.5? Its full at 3.75 quarts.

Hmm, took 4.25 qts for me. Did you add oil directly into the filter, then screw it on?

Default did you prefill the filter? you have to idle the car for a few minutes..

then recheck the level.

i just changed my oil and nearly got 5 quarts in (large oem filter, s4 oil cooler)

Default did you do the change on ramps?....

tilting the car may not let all the oil drain. only other thing i can think of is sludge, but i'd hate to think you have a ½qt of it.

With that larger filter. I'd think filling that up first would be a really good idea.

So because you emptied it on ramps, you didn't get all of the oil out of the pan!
