Took my car to the dealer this morning to get the remote reprogrammed. Gave them the TSB. They were a little surprised but said OK and made copies of it. What I didn't realize at first is that they also made copies of the A4.org FAQ. When I went in to see how the change was coming, the tech was working from the FAQ and had programmed the thing with all the options (windows with remote, etc.) He thought it was really cool - didn't know all those options existed.
So now the A4.org FAQ is in this guy's file for any time somebody wants their remote done.

When I asked my dealer if they'd make any changes to the stock settings of the alarm, they replied "if it isn't in the owner's manual, we will not do it". Then they suggested going to a VW shop to change the settings. All I want to do is add the 15mph autolock feature.

Out of curiosity, I would call Audi Of America and see what their reaction is. Don't talk about remote features, just mention the TSB by Number and tell them you are being denied service. See if they can recommend somewhere else for you to go. I would be interested in knowing their reaction.
Audi Of America: 248-340-5000
Or, if you don't want to call long distance, try sending an e-mail to: auditalk@audi.com
Good luck..
Paul
'98.5 A4 TQTipS/APR in Pearl with remote controlled windows
