Default www.oil-store.com -- $5.62/qt shipped. Considering Mobil-1 0w-40 is $6 + tax at Walmart, this is a

good deal for me.

not bad. If I ever run out of GC, I might give it a try also.

Default Yea. I have no GC. I only ran it for one interval. I consumed a fair amount of it though..

On the order of half a quart. I consume *zero* Mobil 1, so I'm interested to see how the Pennzoil will do.

Default I ran PP10w-30 before switching to GC.

The engine seems slightly quieter but also slightly more sluggish with the GC. Also, my mpg has worsened slightly. I'm planning to do a UOA at 5K miles to see how the GC is doing. Amsoil Euro 5w-40 should also be pretty good, but more expensive.

There is also a new Castrol SLX Professional oil available at VW dealers for a very reasonable price from what I hear. And it meets all the latest VW specs. It has no BMW specs listed, but normally, what's good for a VW is good for BMW engines as well.

Default Some people don't like the M1 0w-40 UOAs, but I've never done one. I wouldn't look to move away from

it if it weren't for the fact that M1's roadmap is uncertain and I can get other oil shipped cheaper to me than I can drive and get M1!

Nice. Even plain 30 weight Pennzoil Platinum carries Euro A5 specs as well as Honda's new turbo spec

Default yeah, the M1 0w-40 UOAs in my 1.8T looked worse than the GC UOA, but probably not to the extent...

that one would cause an engine failure and the other wouldn't.
