<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/1009/k03-gt25-replacement.jpg"></center><p>Greedspeed posted this picture here a few weeks ago as I am sure many of you will remember.
Apparently, Greedspeed has played a cruel, cruel joke on all of us. Garrett has no intention of ever building a direct bolt on turbo for the A4 and never has!
Why a performance shop would play a hoax on this community is beyond me.
To recap, the claims made by Greedspeed include:
Direct bolt to the stock manifold - WITH NO ADAPTER PLATE!
Direct bolt to the stock three bolt cat.
Exact fitment of all oil and water lines.
It's interesting how the important side of the turbo (the exhaust) was not shown. I would love to see the manifold mount and cat mounting flanges of the turbo pictured.
Thanks for nothing,
Mike O.

Garrett "has no intention of ever building a direct bolt on turbo for the A4 and never has!"? And how did you come to be the receiver of this information?
Garrett Technologies supplies the components of the turbo, but a tuner can have it rebuilt or spec-ed to their liking. I can't see why it wouldn't be possible.

A tuner cannot have the entire turbine housing custom cast by Garrett. They simply don't do that. They have minimum production runs for any housing (to the tune of thousands of units).
While you are correct in saying that Garrett is simply the supplier of components, each component is standardized (within the GT25 line). There are different A/Rs available for the turbine housing but they all use the same 4 bolt manifold. Every center cartridge is the same within the GT25 line. You simply choose the A/R for the turbine and compressor and choose your wheel trims.
As to how I came to be the receiver of this information is simple....I picked up the phone...A LOT...over the last week or so and have simply wasted my time in this endeavor.
Thanks for your insight and obvious knowledge of the turbocharger industry. You obviously have a lot on the ball regarding that thing that hangs off the exhaust manifold.

They screwed up a Stage 3 install, and seem eager to blame the kit, calling it crap.
Funny how now they have come out with a garrett kit now....
Timely.
