Default Gurgle/Rubbing Sound...

i recently installed a TTvalve, had no issues, no sounds nothing... then i installed apr chip, now i have a gurgle/rubbing noise at around 3k rpms... only in first gear then for a moment in second... is it possible that i installed the valve wrong maybe hooked up the wrong hoses to the wrong ends or is it more along the lines of a chip problem??? other than that the car runs great... so if you had to guess?

Default I have a 99.5 and it has done that periodically (gurgle) from new. It came and went but always just

after a cold start. It stopped doing that when I bled the coolant system post installing the Stage III.
You can't really hook the TT BPV up wrong . .either orientation will work. IIRC Audi actually shipped some cars with the side of the valve to the boost pressure. The 'correct' orientation is with the bottom of the valve into the pressure hose and the side leading to the intake hose but I have mine oriented opposite that.
I would 'vote' for a loose heat shield vibrating as the culprit for the 'rubbing' sound but I'd check all the hoses around the BPV to make sure you don't have something rubbing around that.

Default turns out it was a fautly chip/ wrong model...

mine was 99... put in one for a 97/98... fwd not quattro... blah causing all these problems... sent it back to apr, updated and programmed it correctly works great now... except for this sound... is it possible that i screwed up the DV install???
