Default Had cam adjuster replaced a few weeks ago, along with torn vac line to the bypass valve...

I'm holding more boost now, but the car seems slower. It feels like the cam is not changing profile at ~3000RPM and there's not the same rush of power that there used to be. Is there any way (without opening the valve cover) to tell if the cams are properly aligned or if the cam adjuster is not working. The dealer said they can do something with the computer, is there somewhere I should be checking with a VAGCOM?
