Default Had heater core replaced, a/c no longer works.

Is there something the mechanics might have forgotten to plug back in? Worked fine 4 months prior.

Could be any number of things. I'd start by checking to see if the system is charged. Then use VAG-COM to do some testing.

from prior discutions regarding heater core exchange, i know you have to purge the whole AC system. So did the mehanics refill your AC system with freon or whaqtever it uses??

So can it be confirmed that the refrigerant must be emptied to replace the heater core? I took my car back to the same shop, I don't think I should have to pay them to refill it.

yes, always the system is purged. You will have to go refill at your own expense. Altough those tards at the shop should have told you about it or atleast do it and charge you in the final bill. Thats how its normally done.

Go ask them if they did or if they knew abouyt this atleast...maybe they messed somethingup..
