got a VAG reading yesterday after a check engine light came on in the morning.........
Suspect 02 sensor threw a problem code........
concern is, does this mean Stage III will NOT pass smog tests??? there is an alleged CAT that has "Split" here in SF Bay Area also. 8-|
anybody care to inject any info??

hi-flow cats take considerably longer to warm up compared to the OEM cat. Cat. converters must reach a certain temperature before they do their tree-hugging duties. 16806 means the cat was below a predetermined temperature, which might cause additional emmissions to be exhausted. Since it's a predetermined temperature, you're probably OK from a smog point of view.
With a hi-flow cat, the temp range should be adjusted slightly to compensate for the new hardware. It's coming.

Just the Split Cat allegation I heard about.
Kris, No rattling in the morning.
And Chris, you're right about warming up, just got on it too soon I guess? 8-)
