Default Had a rear view mirror replaced?? Did dealer break your windsheild??
I need a new Auto dim rear view mirror. I am out of warranty, but Audi said they would pick up 75% of the cost ("goodwill"). So far that is GREAT, but they tell me there is an 80% chance the windshield will break when they take the bad mirror off - and that is MY PROBLEM!
Have any of you had a mirror replaced?

Why would they break the windshield? I don't know about that fancy auto-dim mirror, but my regular mirror comes right off the socket without a problem.

thats what happens when you take the mirror off by smashing it from the outside of the car with a sledge hammer.
