Hi-
Psyched to get my new A4 1.8 Quattro, and already planning on doing my ham radio install. I have a Kenwood V7 which is remote-able. Is there a 12V wire in the trunk preferably on a 20A circuit? In the past I've always wired directly to the battery, but my guess is that the firewall on the A4 is not friendly for passing wires.
Also, any advice on Antenna install? I've had great success with NMO trunk lip mounts which only require 2 or 3 tiny holes to be drilled .
Thanks,
Josh, N2JLL

The rear amp wire has a 20 amp fuse according to the shop manual. I wouldnt use that though as it is already supporting that amp.
I routed a wire to my trunk mounted sub from the battery thru the firewall at a triangular shaped rubber plug just off to the drivers side of the battery. From there, over the pedal assemblies up in the dash and down the driver kick panel. Pull the inside lower door sill covers and route the wire with the existing bundle to the back. At the rear seat, the seat bottom and left shoulder bolster of the seat back come off and you can route it into the trunk.

Thanks much! I somehow thought that it would be impossible to access the battery w/o drilling. My present vehicle is a 92 Saab, which was a bear to get wired up
What are you doing antenna wise?
Josh
