Default Hey Phil, is it night and day between the S03s and the SP5000s? I am running the

Dunlops for winter and was thinking of the S03s for summer.

Thanks.

Default You're going in the wrong direction... narrower tires are more comfortable than wide

All other things being equal. If you have a wide tire, you're hitting more of the bumps in the road. If you're going to go with a 17, it should be a 225.

On the other hand, you know what your car feels like with stock rims and tires. If that is acceptible to you, then you will not miss the additional cornering ability of a low profile tire. Personally, I am also looking for new rims/tires. I too want to keep the ride smooth and comfortable. But I've pretty much decided that 17 is the lowest I'll go. 16 is such a small bump up from 15, that few people would likely even notice the change. It hardly seems worth the time/money. I like the way a lot of the 18's look (and have noticed that many good looking 18" rims don't look so great in 17" form), but I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't be happy with the ride comfort or the aggravation of worrying about bending the rim on every bump, etc.

Well, that's just my thought process right now. Good luck, I know what you're going through.

Default noticeable, but not "night & day".

handling is a bit sloppier but ride is quieter & smoother. About what you'd expect from higher-profile.
