I just had the nokia 5120 hands free kit installed. They charged me for 2 antennas claiming that the one antenna wire was not long enough for installation on the rear window. The problem is that the phones signal seems to suffer to the point that on many occasions the person i'm talking to can't hear me!! But when i pick it up off the cradle, it's perfectly fine.
I've already taken it back, but whatever they did, did not help. Is it this extra wire?
Any suggestions or similar situations?

Don't know about the 5120 hands-free kit, but I just integrated the 6162/6160 hands-free kit, and it works fine. The original cradle had a wire for the antenae which I had to connect to a cellular antenna (Larsen 4" spike) through a TNC connector. Routed the wire under the carpet, looped it a couple of times under the rear seat (since it was kinda long), and then up the rear deck, up the c-pillar, and finally to the center of the rear window. Reception is great in my area. You may want to check reception without the antenna bypass. On the 6160 kit, the antenna is bypassed only when you fully snap the phone into place. OTherwise, you can still use the handsfree with the original phone antenna.
hope this helps.
-joe
