I have completed my first attempt at making a "generic" hands-free cell phone adapter for the TT, or for that matter, any Audi with the cell phone wiring.
I'm pleased to say, this works. Connected this way, an incoming call will ring through the cell phone, and the TT speaker, inconjunction with any other audio. When you `answer' the phone, the call is automatically switched into the TT speaker, and the other audio is muted. When you `hang up' the phone, the audio comes back.
This is not the cleanest approach to this, but it is "generic".
It's difficult at best, to find connectors that mate to all the different brands of cell phones, much less to find the pin-outs to these connectors, to get a single point connection.
I'm working on `Rev B' of this set-up, that should make this a bit easier to do in a "generic" manner.

The pictures below shows the phone in the cradle, being charged through the RJ-45 jack. A "mike" is attached to the cell phone speaker, which goes to the small `clear' box, mounted on the side of the center console. This is the "brains" of the unit that contains the speaker amp, cell phone charger, and mute switch circuits.

I have another pic of the components, that show the details, but I inadvertently did not upload this to my web site.
I intend to document this all, and post it to my site for further reference.

I have seen Ed's postings on the Nokia install, and was impressed by this enuf to do this for a 'generic' cell phone.
