Have any of you ever removed the aftermarket chip and replace it with the stock one? If so how did go? Any forseable probelms with doing this?

It should cause LESS problems because it's running a lot less boost and power.

I was refering to the ECU. Would reversing the chip in any way adversly affect the ECU? Also, which chip did you have, and who did it for?

One more question I promise. Do you remember what the copyright date was on your orginal chip? Mine says 1996, but my car is an 01???

As long as you install the chip back correctly, it shouldn't have any problems. As for copyrights, i'm not sure. I got my chip a few months ago, the chip design might be 96', but the software's not.
