Default Has anyone installed an Infinity component speaker system in their car ?

I am thinking of getting the Infinity component speaker system, and putting them in place of the OE's. My only concern is the tweeters as they are apart of that panel in the front doors. Is it possible to mod the panels so the Infinity tweeters will fit? TIA!

Infinity Speakers

Default you'll be able to fit 5.25" mids, and 1" tweeters in the doors

I only mention the above, because the soeakers in the image you linked to look more like 6.5s. Once you take the door panel off you'll see how easy it is to remove the tweeters. Not too hard at all.

Awesome, thanks. I was pretty sure about the sizes, and they will fit nicely.

Default I have 5.25" Infinity's

the tweeters fit with no problem. I am using MB quart adapters for the drivers in the lower door.

Yeah, that's my main complaint with my OE's right now. I've got some tricks to fix that.

Default I'll either tone down the treble, or I'll limit the frequency respone of the tweeter.

You can use the same limiter I found at my local radio shack that lets me set the upper levels of my tweeter without cutting tone quality. Or I'll just stick a piece of insulation between the tweeter and grill and that'll filter out some of the harshness too.

Default I got 5.25 Perfects in the door

The tweeters fit in very easily in the stock location. A clip just holds them in. The mids were hell to get in...lots of shaving, cutting, and custom bracket. This is for the perfects though, so regular kappas will probably be easier.

I do find the tweets much louder than the midbass, cutting off some of the high frequency or putting a barrier in front of it is not really the best solutions for sound sql...i've tried both. At the moment i've settled for how they are.

BTW, hello fellow laser red!

Default I was going based on what some 'audio expert' told me, but I had similar thoughts.

I do plan on on getting the Kappa's and Crutchfield tosses in custom brackets for free, so HOPEFULY that'll make life easier for me. What size did you put in the rear deck? I think I saw up to 6.5" but I'm unsure as to that. Thanks!

BTW, good to know another person shares my tastes in fine color!
