Has anyone tried replacing their front sport 1.8t seats with seats from a Golf/jetta/TT?

Has anyone tried replacing their front sport 1.8t seats with seats from a Golf/jetta/TT?
I have a feeling that they may be the same size and fit on to the same tracks? Have you tried this? I think I may give it a shot since I am really sick of my seats they are way too hard I want softer and a little more cushion for longer drives.
Just a random thought I had a 2AM. I are really tired, well just really bored.
