I just got an Everstart battery from Walmart for only $37. With their computer lookup system it is stated that it is for the TT and TT Quattro. Since they are 1.8Ts also, I figured it would work for my 99.5 1.8TQSTip fine. I haven't gotten to put it in yet since it has been raining, but was just wonderinf if anyeone else has used this battery. Just from visual inspection, it is definitely smaller than my OEM one, but not by a lot. Other than that, it rates 700/590 CCA (Cold cracking amps). The OEM battery is 590 cca also so it looks like it should work fine. will post a followup also. Please let me know if you have this battery and any remarks you have.
