Default Have a .8 BAR chip and have questions about upgrading to 1.0 BAR

I currently have a neuspeed .8 bar chip installed in my 98.5 quattro. I have definetly noticed an increase of power but after I installed a boost gauge I saw that I was only making about 10psi at WOT. I have been thinking about replacing my chip with neuspeed's 1.0 Bar chip to make some more boost but my car has 70,000 miles and i don't want to jeopordize realiability. Any suggestions/advice.
Thanks a lot guys

Default You'll be fine with the 1.0 bar.

It's really about your driving habits. 70k is still young for the car. I slapped on a big turbo kit at 65k and am still running strong. I don't think the 1 bar chip will hurt.

Before the the T28, I was running a GIAC 1.1 bar since 5k. My engine is still doing fine (knock on wood heh).

Default 1.0 bar is nothing really. Thats only 14.5psi...you don't need to worry unless you see....

your boost gauge hanging out at 25+psi

Default 78k. Just do a compression test first if you're concerned.

I am keeping this car and if need be I will swap out the engine if anything bad happens (praying nothing goes wrong of course).

BTW, it's a daily driver for me and I love it.

Default As long as your not dumb and think things out....

you can toss a WAY bigger turbo than a small T28 at way higher mileage

As long as I'm not dumb and think things out? Can you explain that?

I think he's saying that you're well within specs to upgrade if you take sensible precautions.

Default That's what I was thinking, I love this car, and if something does go wrong with the internals,

I'll just put in a new one and have it longer. I love everyting about this car too much to let it go.

That's what I figured, just thought it was funny how he worded it.
