Have you guys heard about an Evac Purge Valve??

Well I had a solid CEL on last Friday. Bryan ran a VAG for me and it says the only fault is some intermittent Emission System fault. The CEL went away by itself on Saturday. THe car drives fine anyhow.

Took the car into the dealership today and they found a faulty "Evac Purge Valve". What is that? I *assume* it's with the emission system? I asked the service adviser and he said it's the valve controlling air and it's burning with too much air going through.....but would that throw another fault as well?

So this valve is on backorder and won't be here till the end of the week. In the meantime, watch out for a mean charcoal color Enterprise Dodge Intrepid loaner.

Enlighten me, please.....what is this "Evac Purge Valve"??

I think it has to do with purging the charcoal canister back into the intake...

basically the EVAP system captures fuel vapor, and stores it in the charcoal canister.. THe purge valve lets it back into the intake to be burned.. at least that's my understanging of how/what it does.. It's all emissions related stuff.
