Default Headlight Washers Broken?

My headlight washers won't pop up. I can hear the motor running, but no juice. I filled the fluid tank, and after a point, fluid came pouring out under the car. There is still enough fluid left for regular windsheild use, but what went wrong? Is there a special tube for the headlights that can pop off? It has been too cold and icy to check it out. Any suggestions or experiences would be helpful. Also, how much fluid does the A4 hold, seems like alot.

Default there's a small clip that connects the washer fluid line to the...

headlight washers. you have to take off the entire bumper to fix it. usually the clip falls off. happens to many A4's/S4's. bring it to the dealer.

Default Manual Control?

Just wondering if anyone has modified the circuit to not have the light washers pop up when the headlights are on?? Those headlight washers use up a lot of fluid which I'd like to preserve for the windshield, especially in the winter, let alone keeping the hood cleaner.

Anyone figured out how to bypass the headlight aliens - have them pop-up only when required via a switch???

I recall someone did that in the past....wired up a blank switch in the dash to make them squirt.

Default Best I remember....

I can reach the headlamp hoses by removing the corner black pieces (the one that covers the towing hook) and reaching in through there. I can't remember whether it was that or reaching in behind the front bumper. But I think you should be able to get to them without removing the front bumper itself.... At least on the A4... not sure about the S4.

If you use short 1 second bursts then the headlamps washers to not activate.

Default Depends on the year of your A4, as I recall........

....I know that doesn't work on my '97 A4. I do recall reading about that improvement made to later model years.
