Default Heater core replacement--Need help w/ loose ends.

Got the dash out, new heater core and a/c evap core in place and I'm putting the climate control box back in. Two small problems.

1) Two clips left over. I've put in every one that's obvious. There's a place down deep in the space between the heater core housing and the a/c housing which looks like it could hold them, but it doesn't look like they'd be doing anything since they'd only clip to one side. Is there a hidden place where these fit?

2) The vaccum line that goes through the bulkhead hooks up to a solenoid, then a large white plastic reservoir, then another solenoid with two hose fittings. When I pulled it, there was a hose coming off one fitting and connected to nothing and the other fitting had nothing connected. Is this hose supposed to form a loop, or is there something else I should be looking for?

Thanks

Default Never mind. I figured it out.

Pretty obvious once you get everything in there.

Default Heater Core

I need to replace my heater core. I'm not looking forward to ripping my dash out.

If it were me, I'd do the heater core, A/C evaporator and accumulator and the fan motor all at the same time. Of course, since you pretty much have to pull the front end to get at the accumulator, might as well do the timing belt and thermostat.

Should be back on the road in just a few weeks.

I've been driving without heat or air for a few years now. How long did it take you to replace these items?

A few years? You must not live in a cold enough climate to have to defrost the windows.
