When you put first turn on the heat, the fan will only blow low until the engine warms up and then the fan slowly comes on (in auto mode). See if you have heat when the engine is warmed up
If you have NO heat at all, it could either be a blocked heater core, a faulty valve, or an airlock in the heater core. Have you changed the coolant recently? You may want to bleed the system to see if there is an airlock in the heater core.
I'm too lazy to check under my hood, but there should be two hoses going through the firewall. Warm the engine up, turn on the heat and see if the hoses are warm. If they are cold, then coolant is not flowing through the heater core. If they do get hot, then the problem my be with an airflow director which directs air over the heater core.
