Default Refering to post from other day: Car I now have is the Black one in pic poster (and below.)

the Front bumper is Reiger RS4 (I think same as yours) and the FMIC is GReddy. The car is a 2001 and I am 95% sure the wiring for stock fogs still exists somewhere down there (at least the seller told me so) So is the connecting just a matter of splicing 2 wires on each side?? And what relevance/issues does the FMIC pose? Thanks

Default What FMIC do you run?? I am trying to figure out if I can drop the GReddy one in my car down a bit.

it sits really high. The top of the core is about and inch below the top of the bumper (when I pop the hood I see the top of the core and there is about an inch or so inbetween bumper and core) So it appears that about 1/2 of the FMIC is covered by the bumper. Yours seems as though most of the FMIC is in the front there. In addition to any performance gains, I like the way the full FMIC looks..

Default Ok your pictures make me jump for joy! Well....

we both have 01's and we both run a Rieger RS4 bumper and I too will soon have a Greddy FMIC. The piping in those pics looks like it will work with where I installed the fogs So it will be the same for you! The install of the Micro De's was very simple. If the stock wires are in there somewhere it's just a matter of cutting the harness about 3" above the harness it self and attaching the brown to black and green t green white The mounting of the fog bracket will call for you to pick up a Simpson "L" bracket from Home Depot or Lowes in the wood framing isle, if you want to get them back and flush like I did other wise they will have to mount to the bumper which is not desired in my book. I will be taking a couple pics tonight and get them up ASAP probably by 8pmEST.

Default a few things and questions...

Glad my pics/similar setup are of some use to you. I put the pics side by side and it doesnt look like there will be any issues with the lights where they are and the IC piping (which is good for both of us!) The wiring is as i expected so I will just have to find the wires when I get around to buying and installing fogs (which I think is a few months off as I have other things I need to take care of first) (the car is in the shop getting new Control arms/TRE's as we speak) I too would rather not mount them to the bumper so I will keep those brackets in mind when I install them. What does the bracket attach to though? I can not tell in your picture if the lights are in front of or in the mesh grill. Did you cut out some of the mesh and put them in there or no?? I will check back later and see if the other pics you plan on taking show this. Shaving off the rest of the mounting brackets will definantly look better, thankfully my brackets were already shaved off for me... Thanks for the tips and good luck with the FMIC (when you do it). I am trying to figure out a way to lower mine some so be sure to post pics when you install yours and I can compare and see if I can get mine any lower. As it sits now about half of the FMIC core is covered by the bumper, which kinda hinders performance and does not look as good...

Default The lights themsleves are just poking out of the mesh and the grommet covers them...

I had to trim a bit of the mesh for them to go through. In the picture here you can see the part number for the bracket I used (Simpson 66L) I drilled out several holes (router that can do metal would have been better and allowed more flexibility and placement option for the "Hella" bracket too (I will do that in the future as well). The black "Hella" bracket is what you see connected to the bolt on the "Simpson". Depending on how you want to do this you could 1)weld it to the bumber support 2) epoxy it to the bumper supprt 3) put it under bumper supprt and use an expanding type foam and then just zip tie the bracket to the mesh (just for precaution).

Shot looking down and then down and angled at the fogs from where the headlight would be on the passenger side.

I will take more and better pics next time I pull the bumper (fogs are now fixed to the bumper). Good thing the lamps on these last a wicked long time

Default Re: What FMIC do you run?? I am trying to figure out if I can....

Im now running a DUH FMIC. When I ran the Greddy, I dropped the core down about 1.5 - 2 inches using custom brackets. This helped both asthetics and performance.
