Help! Audi Concert stereo stuck in SAFE mode

Re: No.
What specs do I need to note on my current battery when shopping for a new one?
Any particular idiosynchcracies of the Audi OEM battery?
Any particular car battery brands that represent high quality at a reasonable price? Will any retail outlet dispose of the old battery if you buy a new one from them?

Just go to the store and buy one. Sears sells them.
Most places that sell batteries will have a book that details which battery to buy for your car. Just look it up in the book and buy it. Sears will usually install it for $9.
In my opinion, there isn't enough variation in battery quality to overlook the one that's most readily found. At least, not for our application...we don't need a lot of battery power to start out cars...not like a 10 cylinder truck might need. In Florida, you don't even see the kind of cold temps that would require a high capacity battery.
The only significant feature on our factory battery is a gas vent tube at the top of the battery. Most aftermarket replacements will probably also have this vent tube. I believe the Sears battery does.

Re: $100 give or take.
I just did a series of start-up and shut-downs of my car engine and start-ups seemed to improve (without fade) after a start-up or two.
If my car battery is no longer holding a charge, should I expect to see worsening start-ups with a rapid series of engine start-up / shut-downs?

One Click or two on ignition to reset Concert SAFE mode?
In order to reset the Concert SAFE mode, do I turn the ignition one click or two (battery light comes on)?
Also, if one click is correct, does the one click position of the ignition drain power from the battery?

I just had a similar situation happen to me. Somehow the rear seating overhead light had been left on for days and eventually drained the battery.
I tricjle charged the battery and all is good in that regard.
However, the oem stereo displays SAFE.
Is this procedure still valid or has there been some better method adopted over the years?
Basically turn the ignition two clicks and then turn on the stereo and let sit in this config for 1 hour and it will self correct?
Many thanks in advance.
