sorry for the late answer, i was playing golf al day
but yes my car would hit boost spikes of about 23psi. currently it will only go to about 19-20psi because of the hot weather. and yes this is the version 9 GIAC chip and not the race chip.

The race chip is not for sale. GIAC does not make a chip that puts out 20-25 psi
he is probably talking about 20psi boost spikes. These are high if you run the car in 3rd gear or higher and go WOT at 3000 rpm's. I use a custom race chip that was made just for me. I see 18-20 psi in all gears and see up to 25psi on a 3rd gear load.

Well I would tell your friend to have his turbo checked. Sounds like he might have a bad
wastegate rod or actuator. This will cause his turbo to over spin and go into the limp mode. But limp mode goes away once you turn the car off and when you restart the car it is gone.

So you see 20 psi spikes but it then drops to 16psi.
That is normal for the P09-L chip. I used to run that chip and saw around 21 spikes. But the bad thing about spikes are, as the boost drops after that spike the car feels weaker.
