HELP!!! Borla nightmare....Anyone have this problem?

Indeed...the grease monkeys that do exhaust work can't charge 100 per hour...that's more than dealer
labor by a lot...I wonder what kinda lube they used on him, AstroGlide... ;-)

It should. Also..
The problems I had with thin metal near the cat flange have supposedly been addressed, so hopefully you won't have to worry about that.
The Tip version was also missing a front bracket to bolt the downpipe to the transmission (not sure if this has been fixed yet), but I understand the manual versions have pretty much always had these brackets so again you should be ok (I had a custom bracket welded on mine).

It really needs to break in just like anything else..
All you have is air flowing through bare and unsmooth metal at a high velocity. I believe the carbon and soot accumulation will soon make up for some of the rasps at WOT when it's new. For me it went away in less than a week of driving, on that note, the inside of my tips are BLACK and I just cut out the inner tips last wekend!
BTW it's gonna smell for like a month

Thanks for the insight everyone. I'll give updates, and try to post a soundbyte soon.
My plan is to give it some time, and call AWE to hear their opinion. And I'll give Borla a call.
If I still don't like it after a few weeks, I'll take it off (myself this time) and put the stock system back on. Unless I can hear another system before then. If anyone has an aftermarket exhaust on their A4 in the MI area, I'd really like to hear it.

I have a borla on my other car...
in a 93 probe GT.
Anyway the thing DRONES loud as $#|^ around 2-3K under WOT.
I also think I lost some low-end torque but the car maybe seems to pull better at higher RPM.
I paid $75 at minekee so I definately think $400 is out of line. Why should you have to pay all that money cause they snapped off the bolt?
Then again, I once paid $300 for a dealer to fix the door panels in my probe I screwed up putting speakers in.
Some things ya gotta chalk up to experience.

The reason why Borla sounds good on Audi compared to American cars is that
most American cars don't have a resonator. This cuts the droning/resonance sound that most other people experience. My dad is going to put a Borla on his XR4Ti, which also has a resonator. Should be interesting to compare.
