I was drving on the freeway last night and the check engine flashed for about 10 seconds. I checked my oil temp, battery, coolant gauges and they were fine. 10 minutes later it flashed again, then for the next hour it never flashed again. The car drove perfectly fine with no problems despite the flashing. That was the last time I drove the car. I have a 2000 1.8T QMS with a GIAC chip. I'm due for my 10,000 mile check up soon. What could be the potential problems and what should I do about it?
thanks for the input,

They can and will dry rot over time triggering the light. At 30k my friend's passat had brittle lines. The line to the BPV went bad and threw the CEL

I'd have it towed to your dealer.

Usualy means that there is problem bad enough to cause harmful emisions.
I/E Random misfires.
Put a set of stock sparks in it if you see that DTC when you check it.
