Had the car chipped by APR at Streetwerke's grand opening yesterday... got the car home (I'm northeast of Sacramento in Roseville), and well, car is hesitating in chipped mode... it's also making that whoosh sound (which I'm told is the turbo pulling air through the air filter at a fairly high rate from using the search).
First I figured it's just needs to adapt... but then...driving it around town a bit, it suddenly didn't want to go over 25MPH (which sucked since I nearly got rear-ended). Had to pull over and bam, the Check Engine (CEL) goes on. I ended up throwing it in "Stock" mode, and clearing the CEL and the car started driving fine, and I Drove it home without any problems.
Basically in chipped mode, it's fine if I give it no more than 50% throttle, over that, it boggs down to nothing. I hear the turbo whoosh... but nothing after that. Again... drives normal in "stock" mode (thank god I bought a full chip!).
I'm running Chevron 91 Octane...
Ideas?
I'm a 2001.5 1.8t Quattro, Tiptronic.

Now I know I should have just left it and tried the car so that it was still stored.
I'm on ross-techs site... I'm thinking of getting a vag-com no matter what (car went off Ausi warranty last week (On a CarMax one now).

That's basically what I was thinking, then when I searched around some people acted like that's normal...
It sounds like the end of a shop vac.... minus the motor sound.

a bpv generally sounds like a duck. But to pick up the 710N TT valve is a good idea for no other reason than it is stronger than our stock bpv.

~$71 plus shareware = good start for diagnosis. Register the software for $100 to get the full setup.
