Default Help - Court tomorrow over no registration

I was fully registered inspected insured licenced etc, but when i was pulled over once I could not find my registration because it had become lost in the crack of the glove box. I have to go to court tomorrow to fight the ticket. I am wondering if anyone has fought this and won, or if there is anything i can say to win. I dont see why i should get a ticket when I had it on me but just could not find it.

Default They gave you a ticket for that??? All you should need to do is return to the PD with proof of reg..

in 2 or 3 days.. All the guy needed to do was run your tags, verify that it is in fact current and give you a fix it ticked. What type of cop was this? Local? Trooper?

Default just show the the registration....

if that is the issue, but I'm not sure if the fine is for not having it on you or not, because the the police computer will show if a car is registred.

Default i tried that, i called him to tell him he said "see you in court"

i think he was mad because he wanted to give as many fines as he could because i was clocked at 102 in a 65, but I got an 85 in a 65 ticket

Default i put my reg in an old wallet in the glovebox so this won't happen...

it's not illeagle to lose your reg. the officer is being a dick. most i've had to do is show reg at police station after an episode like this. plede that the reg had been misplaced in car and if the officer was willing to give you more time you could have found it. that way you put the onis of proof back on the officer.

Default have a chat w/ the prosecutor and see what happens

your original post didn't mention the speeding ticket. if it was only the reg ticket, i'd say pay it. since you'll be paying hundreds for the the speeding ticket, the prosecutor "may" cut you a break. who knows?
