I going to remove the resevoir clean it out and then flush the system. I just don't want the hassle when I trade the car in that the dealer will say "Looks like a cracked block that'll be thousands to repair, give you 5K for the car".
But does anyone's resevoir look like this. Why would just a few A4's get like this. I have never seen this on any other car I owned.

I have to have mine replaced two months ago (98 1.8T with 65K miles). If so, make sure servicer flushes the COOLING system with SHOUT. Yes the same SHOUT that cleans your clothes. It was recommened from the dealer.

One would think that if I had a leak I would see water in the oil? I know people have stated that the oil pressure is 40 psi or greater and that the coolant pressure is only 15 psi so the oil pressure overcomes the coolant pressure thus resulting in oil in the coolant. Now you stop the car, the oil pressure goes to zero and the hot coolant is still at 15 psi...thus the coolant should get into to the oil for the same reason!

it tends to really mess up the crank bearings, cam bearings and any other shafts that ride on a film of oil.
I hope a good coolant flush fixes you right up!
