Default help! dead car

so i ran my 0 awg power wire tonight and all of a sudden the car is dead...din't see much but then again it was super dark....

i just connected the cable to the battery and it just died...(i don't wanna get into why i ran 0 awg...let's just say that every chart i looked at and even the MECP chart said i needed 0 awg)

anyone have any idea what might be that went bad?

the 0 awg runs to a power distribution block in the trunk wherein from there it goes to two diff amps (4 ch and a mono) ground also goes to a dist block (4 awg) right below it...that dist block gives both amps a common ground...

anyone have any imput? thanks

Are you sure you don't have it grounded someplace?

Default Yes.... did you make sure that the amps weren't running constantly?

if you have your amps at a constant on... I can see that your battery may have drained. I do not know why you went as large as a 0 gauge wire or why you would even attempt wire that large for 2 amps.

the size of the wire wouldn't be any problem. If the wire where to small and drew too much amperage then that would be a problem. I agree, first place is to check the battery, then see if you're getting power to the fuse block.

Default Size of the wire wouldn't be a problem, but...

he may be drawing much more amperage than needed.
Even with a 4 gauge wire, an improper installation is an improper installation.

Besides for 2 amplifiers in the car... unless he is running close to 1500+ watts in the car there is no need for 0/1 gauge wire.

Default might want to share what steps youve already taken to test your battery, terminals, fuses

disconnect your battery and measure the voltage between the posts

Default There is nothing wrong with the 0 gauge cable

it used to be in my car on a stock battery and a red top running 2 amps. He put it is because he is also running my 1200 watt sub amp with a 4 channle amp, so I am pretty sure he is well over 1500 total watts.
