HELP! How bad is it to switch from 3rd gear to first? (well, on a tiptronic transmission)?

Default HELP! How bad is it to switch from 3rd gear to first? (well, on a tiptronic transmission)?
my frined was driving my car in tip, and was in 3rd gear at like 20mph or over, and then quickly downed shifted to 2nd and then 1st....
well at least for manual i know that you never down shift to 1st gear until a complete stop...well, this happened to my tiptronic and i was wondering if this could damage my tranny in any way and reduce the life of it.....

iirc trans won't downshift if it would over rev the engine.

so it wouldnt have damaged the transmission at all?
