Have you read through the timing belt FAQ that Andy_TN wrote?

Not quite sure exactly which diagram you're looking for.

Default it's not in there....i don't need to touch any of the belts except for the alternator belt

the thing came off (long scary story), i'm just glad it wasn't the timing belt. everything is in good working condition, i just need to get the darn belt back in.

i can't seem to figure out what i need to use to get the tensioner loose. i called my mechanic and he told me it's one of 3 things.

the square part of a wrench (basically the part the sockets fit into)

a hex/allen screw

or a socket

as soon as i figure what the hell i need i can get on the road again =(

Default Just loosen the tensioner

Can't you just loosen the tensionser with a big adjustable wrench? If you take the tension out, you should be able to slip the serpentine belt back on.
There's a little square tab sticking out of the tensioner, just put a wrnech on that, and apply force to once side.

Default Ah..

No, you put a wrench on it the little tab that sticks out of it. Then pull on it.. it'll move to allow room to slip the belt on.
