HELP!!! i need the diagram for the Altenator/Fan belt assembly on a 1.8t (edited)

Default where's the square tab? is it in the pic?

the mech said i could do this w/o removing the bumper...and trust me i'm not anxious to pull it off...

so it is just the square part of the wrench correct?

btw- i'm going to be ballin on 15's like you when i'm done =) (prepping for tahoe)

Default my mech assured me that i didn't need to worry about that.....

he just told me i just needed to loosen the tensioner, slip the belt on, take the pressure off the tensioner and it'll do it's job by itself.

i'm guessing it's a coil loaded tensioner.

and i was looking to friday =(

Default Correct, as Mike pointed out in the previous post..

..just put a big wrench on it (that's MY artwork, thank you and pull clockwise. It's just a spring-loaded arm. Good luck

it looks easy eneough...however i couldn't find a wrench big eneough.

waiting for a friend to pick me up so i can rob the nearest kragen.

i can't believe i have 2 cars sitting in the garage and none of them working =(
