Default HELP! Im ordering my Black 1.8TQM tomorow and I can't decide between onyx cloth interior w/ sports seats or ecru/onyx letherette w/o sports seats.

The sport seats are not available in leatherette for 2000 models. I love the sport seats but I also like the ecru/onyx leatherette interior better than just onyx cloth. Are the sport seats worth sacrificing the interior I prfer? Any feedback would help A LOT!

Just an FYI: Sport seats have never been available in leatherette. Cloth on 1.8T and cloth or leather on 2.8

Default I love my ecru/maritime blue non-sport seats. (more)

I have ridden in leather sport seats, but I prefer mine non-sports. The leatherette is nice and the seats are latterally supportive enough for me. I take long trips and worried about the firmness and tightness of the sport seats. Also, I'm short (5'7" is short in Texas at least) and the sport seats are a little too long under my legs. All of this is IMHO.<p>Best of luck with your order,<br>Rich<br>'99 1.8TAQMS<br>

Default New sport seats have a checkered pattern (more)

I don't know if you are aware of this but the 99.5 sport seats in onyx are not solid onyx. They have a very nice checkered onyx/silver on the center part of the seat. I would think this could help hold down the heat build up a little. If you check pictures have been posted. I would post a picture of mine but it is not made yet.<p>Roy M 1.8Tqm sport seats trip (Laser Red / Onyx) Due mid July

Default If your aggressive driving is limited to on-ramps and city driving ...

get the material/pattern you want in the regular seats instead of the sports seats. BUT, if you plan to go to the track, do autocrosses or more, get the sports seats. They are cheap (at this point in time) and I am sure the pattern is nice enough. Try finding 1 aftermarket Recaro seat for $500 (or whatever the package costs) let alone 2. I WISH they had offered the seats in 1996. I feel so deprived. The one option I wish they had...<p>Jon<br>'96 A4qs

Make sure you sit in the sport seats before you commit...I thought they were very uncomfortable

Default Sports seats need a few thousand miles to break in properly...

When I first got my car, the seats seemed a bit stiff (not so bad as to be unbearable). After 3,000 miles they became comfortable and now, at 8,000 miles they are incredibly comfortable. It's as if the shape of my butt and backside has fused into the seat. I'm really glad I got them.<p>I should mention that I have the leather sport seats in my 2.8, so I do not know if the same goes for the cloth seats in the 1.8T.<p>- Rog<p>'99 Silver 2.8QMS
