Silver (stealthy but ubiquitous)
or
Laser Red (beautiful but a cop-magnet)
or
Imola Yellow (a compromise?)
...decisions are so much tougher when you actually have to make them. Any of these colors would suffice but I'd rather get a poll going from my beloved forum people instead of flipping a coin like I was going to do

If you really feel you are unprepared to decide your color, it might be better to just wait it out and take a later shipment. Color's important, it's something you won't want to make a rash decision.
Did you decide on an S4? I see you have Imola listed as one of your color choices. Did you mean Brilliant Yellow for an A4?
If you did get an A4, did you eliminate melange in deference to your old car?
In terms of your picks ...
Yellow/Onyx won't be a compromise, that would be just as much a cop magnet as Laser Red. I like it a lot, but you'll have to love it since I hear it's difficult to resell yellow cars.
Silver/Onyx, easy to resell, but very popular color. I am starting to really like it nowadays. It definitely is stealthy. However, I think that chrome/silver rims tend to blend too much into the silver body color, making the car look very monochromatic. Not a bad thing, but just a lot different, than the contrast of your rims against Laser Red.
I think out of the three, Laser Red/Onyx is the best bet, easy to resell, eye catching, and it really looks spectacular when freshly waxed.
But my favorites are still Brilliant Black/Grey or Santorin/Ecru. Black seems to have started to become less popular nowadays that it used to be. It's difficult to maintain, nicks are EASILY visible, but it's just something that I love.

Plus,
don't under estimate stealth. go fast, fewer tickets, looks great clean or dirty.
My opinion - I had red cars till I was 30, but as I am knocking on 40 (holy s(&$%t it sneaks up on you) I find Silver (especially the A4 silver) very refined looking...
oh well,
to each their own, whatever the color, it's a great car

I'm not sure if the yellow is any less of a police magnet. BTW, I used to have a red car, so I don't dislike red. I just don't like the laser red on the A4.
Wayne H.

You actually expect others to make up your mind about a car color? C'mon - grow up! Only YOU can decide what to get - and if you can't you don't deserve the car. YOU'RE spending the money and have to live with your choice for several (hopefully) years.
Sorry, car color is EXTREMELY subjective. Lots of folks like black, I wouldn't touch a black car (royal PITA to keep clean, bakes you in summer). Others hate white, I don't mind it (liked it on my '84 911).
On a practical side:
a) reds fade faster than about any other color
b) silver looks gorgeous (my choice on my 98.5), but royal PITA to touch up - never can match it with a little chip touch-up
c) yellow is "arrest-me" color, but easy to touch up and keeps car cooler in summer.
If you can't decide, visit a bunch of car dealers and look at colors of cars in the lot rather than spending time on this list. It's how I scratched off Pearl White - initially wanted it since was color of old Coupe Quattro. When I saw actual color, it ws more of a beige than white - yuck! So I eliminated it as a choice.
What's the big hurry? You undecided, wait until you do decide before you place order.
