Hee hee...:-)
Top right corner of your screen...search function. You can throw in a few different criteria, run the search, and if you get too little, or too many results, alter the search words, and other criteria until you get what you want. This will allow you to search through everything that's been posted here since 1999 with relative ease.

First, do the search, and get familiar with what the ignition amplier is and what the issue is. You'll also find references to good troubleshooting techniques, and if you refine the search, you'll find online parts sources that are MUCH cheaper than the dealer.
To get you started, what you need to do is confirm that the ignition amplifier is indeed the problem. There are two other primary components that can lead to misfires...plugs, and coilpacks. You changed the plugs, and the other 4 cylinders are normal, so you probably gapped the plugs correctly. You mentioned you checked the coilpacks...not sure how you did that, but it's probably better to swap coilpacks between cylinder 1 and 2, clear the codes, and drive the car again. If the misfires are still restricted to cylinder 2, the coilpacks are fine. By process of elimination, you're looking at a bad ignition amplifier.

for talking to you like a 5 year old...looks like you covered the bases pretty well! When you said "search?" I got a little worried and started taking baby steps! :-) Looks like you've got it sorted out.

Haven't worked with forums much. Also don't have an engine computer to diagnose problems and was wondering if that was intended. I do everything with manual methods. So did I find the right part?

The OEM part is made by Bosch. This might be an aftermarket equivalent. Beru is one of Audi's suppliers, so as long as the place you're purchasing this from indicates that this part works for your car, I imagine you should be okay.
