Default Help with Mintex brake pads.....

I'm getting my new wheels soon and I want to upgrade my brake pads to cut down on dust. I think I'm going with Mintex Red Box, as that seems to be the popular choice around here that everyone is happy with... unless there's another brand I should consider.. (EBC Greens are out of the question after Markbradfords nightmare experience with them)

I have a 98.5 1.8T FWD....

So here are my specific questions...

1. Mintex has several different versions, some with wear sensors and some without. How do I know which ones I should get?

2. Where's the best place to get them for cheap?

3. What other brands should I consider?

Thanks

Default I am getting mine from APR ..... but .. I chose to get the C-tech Mintex pads instead ...

little more brake dust than Red box .. but BETTER performance.
MUCH less brake dust than stock OEM pads.

Default I can provide a little help ...

I had my Mintex pads installed, with my A4 only having 23 miles on it. Great performance, no squealing whatsoever and no brake dust problems. I purchased the pads without brake sensors and just had the dealer loop the sensor wire, so that the dash indicator would not light up. I'm not positive, but, i remember reading somewhere, that the brake sensor wire does not match the sensor receptacle of the Audi. I'm not sure if this situation has been corrected. I know i take good care of my car. I'll know when it's time to change my pads. The part numbers i used were #1741 - fronts, # 1191 rears. I bought the pads from Camra Motorsports, but, unfortunately they are no longer in business.

Got my Mintex Redbox's from germanautoparts.com, I did the same thing as Al and looped the sensor wires by twisting them together and taping them off. The sensor connection that they come with didn't fit my 2000 A4 either. Love them so far...less dust and solid feel.

Default you could cut the sensor off the stock pads and solder it onto the...

the mintex. That's what I did. It's pretty simple.
