Default On my car it was night and day. Shifts went from slow to instant.

I have gotten to the point where I prefer the tip for 90% of my driving. Must be getting old or something.

Default 27 here. 1 dog, 1 cat, we borrow kids from our friends.

Do you think I would be happy with the tip chip and maybe the K04 kit from AWE? I like the feel of the five speed but my practical side is really telling me to hang on to the tip. I also don't want the expense of fixing this one and then the expense of selling it and buying something else. I am not real pleased with the chipped k03 and stock tiptronic.

Default I don't really know.. I have never driven a chipped 1.8t, much less a 1.8t Tip..

I do know a friend of mine who has a 1.8t tip, not chipped, drove my car after I got the Tip chip and said that not only was the improvement dramatic, the 2.8 tip is much nicer to drive than his 1.8t tip. More torque way down low apparently. I would suggest getting the tip chip, and if you still don't like it, a bigger turbo won't make it better, as the lag will increase a little. One tip driving tip for you, try to stay in the throttle more, if you use light foot, it tends to shift up on you.. Also, keep it in Tip, if you drive in D, you will REALLY hate it around town. The thing wants to ge in 5th as much as it can.

Default Mine shifts a lot, up, down, sideways, all over the place :) I have to drive it tip mode to keep

from getting fed up and driving it over a cliff.

Default The tip chip does seem to help the hunting a lot, but around town, you are fighting...

against a 5 speed box. Your wife's Benz, does it shift as much as the Audi?

Default You don't even want to know.

It's also a five speed auto. It is absolutely flawless. It's not just the transmission, but the whole powertrain package is incredible. It it nowhere near a 'sport' vehicle, but is a perfectly executed luxury sedan. Lucikly I get to drive it to charleston and back over the next two days. I'm leaving in a few minutes.

Default Oh, I already do.. If I could afford it, I would have a couple of them...

though, the 4matic system is not nearly as good as the Quattro from what I have heard.. We drive Audis because we NEED to, not becasue we want to (though, I REALLY like Audis) If I had my 'druthers, I would be driving a MB. E55.

Default

If the job gets a little better and we make a few more payments on the 320 would love to have an E55
