Default Help Needed!! Engine coolant light came on...!

My light came on and started flashing, after i was parked on a steep hill for a while. I decided to drive for a bit on the flat, but it still flashed. I drove home and popped the hood to check it out. The level is below min. Also it was bubbling around the black narrow tube that connects to the coolant tank. Could this be the problem, should I go get some coolant and fill it?

Default Yeah, this could be a huge problem. You really shouldn't drive with the coolant light flashing, you

could do a lot of damage to your engine if it overheats. Get some coolant (drive another car if you can) and refill the resevouir back to normal level. Now start checking your coolant level constantly and start looking for leaks. This happened to me, and it ended up being my waterpump going bad. How many miles do you have on your car? Also, when you get the coolant, be sure to get the right one... I believe it is colored orange.

Yeah, I'd recommend just picking it up from the dealer unless you're positive you got the right one.

BE SURE you put in only the G12 coolant, I took a lashing for using the generic stuff in my 2000.

Default Have you replaced your timing belt, water pump, ect? It's about that time. If it is your waterpump

be glad it went before your timing belt. Even if it's not your waterpump, you should replace those things soon. A few ppl on here had their timing belts snap which resulted in 3k worth of damage to the engine. Check on it.
