Default Help needed w/ Beru Silverstone and Nology hotwires

Couple of problems and your help/advice/wisdom is needed!

1. It appears that my 98.5 A4 1.8T Quattro does not have the capability of using Nology Hotwires. After lifting up the plastic engine cover, all I see are 4 coilpacks. Am I correct in assuming that my A4 is not Nology Hotwire-capable? If so, this is strange, because the box from Nology clearly says on it "Audi A4 96-98 1.8L" (note the lack of a "T" or "Turbo" designation...is this the key? Is there such a thing as a regular non-turbo 1.8L engine anywhere?)

2. I also have 4 Beru Silverstone sparkplugs. The model number is S3F, part number 001343806 8mm. Are these the correct plugs for my vehicle? And what special installation instructions are there, if any?

Many thanks for all your help.

Default Info...

Hey Rob,
I did mention in your last post that I was pretty sure that our cars did not use plug wires. The coilpacks eliminate their need.

JC Jiffy posted the exact specs on the Berus a while back. His post said " the model of Silverstones needed for the 1.8T is S3F. The spark plug specs for the 1.8T are 14mm, 0.750" reach, 5/8" hex, gasket seat." (put 'Beru Silverstones' into AW Search).

I'm sure you'll be happy when you get these in. Hope you can get a refund on the wires.

Default Many thanks

Chris: damn, I can't find my original post. (EDIT: found it, but too late for me, I already had the wires in hand) Yeah, no sweat, I can get a refund on the wires.

But again, quick clarification: the plugs I have are OK, right? Even though they say 8mm on them? Just being paranoid, don't want to do damage to the cylinder heads over such a trivial install.

Thanks again.

Not sure about the 8mm versus 14mm - sorry. Try e-mailing JCJiffy.
