Default Help, please! Hood release cable disconnected.

I spent yesterday replacing my electric cooling fan and putting a new timing belt in (thanks Reggie).
All went well, until I tried to open the hood up this afternoon to refill the windshield washer reservoir. Pulled the hood release lever and, uh oh, nothing. I'm guessing the cable came out of the mechanism under the hood. Anyone know if it's possible to open the hood or access the release mechanism another way???

Default Or...

you could destroy your grille with a small jewlers saw...get in and unlatch it...then buy an aftermarket grille or RS4 grille or something like that, cause pulling the bumper out and all that IMHO sounds like a hassle, though I've never done it...maybe it's not that hard.

Default BTDT... I reached up from underneath the car and popped the release with an....

old pool cue. It's a PITA but you can do it (and don't need to break anything).
