Default HELP! Rear window-up MOD done now windows are stuck down and car won't lock!

I did the one touch rear window up MOD (connect pin 5 to pin 8 on the rear window motor connectors) and both windows worked perfectly for about an hour. Coming home from the grocery store I heard a "BING" come from the instrument cluster. It happened three more times. I stopped to investigate and all of my windows stopped working! The sound is the same as when you open one of the doors except for the drivers door which has continuous BINGing. Power locks don't work (already checked the fuse) and the dome lights don't go on with the doors anymore. I'm going down to check out the car with my VAG. Any help is appreciated!!

Let's hope it doesn't rain!

Sounds like a blown fuse to me.

Default Update: Blown fuses w/ random other problems

I removed the rear window mods and the problem still exists. To make a really long story short the problem was related to how the drivers door panel was hung. I moved it around today to adjust the insides and it caused something to short out on the inside of the door. The door switch was not working correctly and the car throught the door was open. The interior lights/central locking fuse kept blowing and that caused the power window fuse to blow.

I don't think the rear window-up mod caused the problem. I'm a little ticked off right now and will not be reattempting to install it. Maybe next weekend perhaps. At least I've gotten good at removing the door panels.

Default Thanks for the update...I was considering that mod...

I suppose a check for if it's proper or not is to simply look at the front motors and see how their wired...if it's the same then you can be pretty sure it's proper and safe.

Regards,

James R.
