Default HELP!STFA, I can't shift into gear. 2k a4 1.8tqm. Cluth slave cylinder bad????

This morning I did my usual and started the car and everything was normal until I tried to actually shift into rear or any gear, it's won't go!!!

What gives.

Any culprits or things to look for?

I'm kinda losing it with this now.

I mean if I remember correctly, if it was the clutch going out I can shift into gear and nothing happens at all.
If it was the trannie, than it would be making noises.

But this one is weird...I was thinking maybe the fluid level is low but I can't seem to find the thingy. So the green one on the right side is the power steering fluid and the ones in the rear are the brake and coolants. But where is the clutch resevoir?

Any help would be sincerely appreciated.

the weather is a cool sunny 70 degrees here in Oregon if that has to do anything with it.

Default No I can't...it's just sitting there and it won't shift.

I tried doing it and shifting it but it just won't go at all.

It means it's clutch related.. Most likely hydraulic...

Default Car has 54k miles and clutch was replaced in the 40's. So this means its the clutch slave cylinder

or master right?

If its hydrolic that means...its leaking or something or is low on fluid.

When can I check for the fluids?

Default It could be the master or slave cyl.. Check the brake fluid resivor...

have you done any brake work recently? What did they replace when they did the clutch? Just the disc?

Default No brake jobs. so the clutch resevior is the brake resevior right?

I will check it more when I get home.
I do know for sure its not the trannie or clutch. More hydro I guess.

It could be internal... Does it make any rattling noises in neutral at idle?
